Atamira - Māori In The City



The Atamira festival is on this weekend at the ASB Showgrounds, entry is free and open to everyone. The festival is a showcase of Māori culture and the goal is "to celebrate being Maori and living in Tamaki Makaurau in a way that authentically honours our heritage as Maori, genuinely reflects our contemporary achievements and inspires the actions of the future."  

There will be kapa haka performances, art and craft stalls, traditional and contemporary food (instantly craving paraoa parai with butter and golden syrup now), a dance competition and a really good line up of live music. Check out the schedule below...Miss Black (Whirimako Black's daughter), Ruia, Ardijah, Sons of Zion and House of Shem!
