Pyjama-rama Party at the library tonight!

To celebrate the New Zealand Post Children's Book Awards both Takapuna Library and Whangaparoa Library are having pyjama parties tonight. 


Kids are invited to go along snuggled up in their pyjamas for a night of story telling and other fun times. At Takapuna they'll have face painting, a crazy bed hair salon, a clown and other activities. At Whangaparoa they'll have an entertainer, milo (bring a mug!) and sweet treats.


The Takapuna party is from 6 - 8pm while the Whangaparoa party is from 6:30 - 8pm.

Mum's (or Dad's) Day Off at The Department Store

Surviving the school holidays? The Department Store in Takapuna are doing another Mum's Day Off today! They have a supervised play area upstairs on the same level as Topshop with story telling, face painting, fairy games and pirate games. Haeata and I have dropped by for a couple of events and they always have some very friendly and entertaining fairies on duty. 


And so you can make the most of your time off, they'll have discounts in every store. Or you know, you could just go sit downstairs in La Boulange and have a quiet cup of coffee.

Go hang out with a Christmas Fairy today!

The Christmas Fairy will be at The Department Store in Takapuna from 10am - 4pm today! Perfect if you've still got some presents to cross off your list -- Topshop has some very glamorous but very affordable make up, Nature Baby has some fun toys and Topman has the coolest socks in town.

 And then you can relax with a coffee and a fresh pastrie at La Boulange while the fairy entertains the kids.

Weee! Haeata and I love The Department Store. She picks out brightly coloured shoes for me at Topshop. I try them on and drool and dream. She loves the winding staircase, the plant wall and the life sized animals. She was really excited to see that they'd added Nature Baby to the mix because now she can do her own "shopping". I love the fresh pastries and loose leaf tea at La Boulange while Haeata loves the macaroons and their box of toys (Separate post on La Boulange to come some time soon!).
