(How gorgeous are these vintage style posters?)
I usually prefer to take Haeata to regular midweek movie sessions as we normally have the whole cinema to ourselves but now that she's turned 2 I have to actually buy her a ticket. We went to the movies a few months ago and it cost me $26 for two tickets and one small popcorn!
So, for Cars 2 we will be giving a Mums and Bubs or Baby on Board session another go. These sessions are put on by both Hoyts and Event Cinemas on a weekly to monthly basis depending on the cinema. Kids under 5 are free and parents are only $9 - $9.50 - infinitely cheaper than a normal session!
Of course, last time we went to one of these sessions Haeata was too tempted by the multitudes of children there and started a rather joyous riot. She started running up and down the aisles and was soon joined by a couple of other kids. By the end of the movie she had a crew of 20 or so rioters racing around the cinema. But then, this is part of the appeal for many parents. Nobody cares how uncouth your children are because chances are, theirs aren't sitting quietly either.
We'll let you know how it goes.
